A few months ago a dear friend and I ventured out to the LA county fair. Y’all I love fairs. There’s something so fun and magical about walking around a fairground. Maybe it’s because I grew up going to the Texas State Fair (shout out to Big Tex! You’re still my fav!) or maybe it’s because I love a good corn dog (thanks mom!), whatever the reason is, I just get really happy around fair season.
The colors, the smells (the good food smells that is…), the excitement, the music, the kids running around all hopped up on sugar, the animals, the rides, the potential to spend more money trying to win a stuffed animal than it would cost just to buy it. It’s ALL so good!! Spoiler alert: I won a tiny pink lobster. And I still have it.
Of course when we went the weather was perfect and the fair was PACKED. But it was still so much fun. We rode the ferris wheel, ate horribly good fried things and stalked all the animals (so many animals y’all!! So so many). Now I have heard the OC fair is better, and it’s still on my list of adventures to do, but this one was closer and during a weekend I was actually free. Maybe I’ll have time to make it down to the OC next year and I can compare! But for now I’m pretty satisfied with the LA county fair. And all the crazy, yummy and wild things it has to offer 🙂
Happy indeed! See ya next year LA County Fair!!
