Hi y’all!! I am STOKED to start a new series today and share it with all of you!!!!!!
In case you were unaware, 2 years ago I moved to California… More specifically Los Angeles!! This place is uh-maz-ing. I know it gets a bad rap with traffic, parking, phonies doing yoga and the drought (dun dun DUUUUUN) and believe me, all those problems do exist here. But LA is gem filled with a thousand and one adventures just waiting for a happy-go-lucky girl to happen across them. Luckily, I fit that bill.
This new series is called “The LA List”. It’s a bucketlist of sorts with things I want to do out here in LA! A list of adventures I have stumbled across or places I have heard about that I want to explore. From time to time I’ll post about an adventure I had in LA as I cross things off my list. (I can’t decide if I want to share the actual list with y’all yet… It’s pretttttttty lengthy, always growing and kinda looks like a crazy person got ahold of my pen and attacked my entire notebook. But maybe I will. I dunno. Sound off in the comments if you would be interested in seeing the list).
Y’all one of the awesome things about adventuring (and LA in general) is there are no rules. But a helpful tip is to bring along a friend who is also a child at heart. And her little dog too. Trust me, it adds so much more to the experience and thank goodness for my funny friend Caroline and her pup Birdie Longbottom 😀
I meannnnnnn, who wouldn’t want to adventure with these two balls of fun?!?!
Anywho, here is the first installment of “The LA List”: the Merry-Go-Round at Griffith Park!!!!!!!!!!!
Y’all this place was a DELIGHT. With kids running around, the original organ playing carnival musical, $2 hot dogs and a pretty groovy face paint lady, it is flat-out impossible not to fall in love with this magical place. Scroll through for a glimpse at the happiness and see attached map at the bottom for details!!
^^^this guy is sure to give me nightmares
^^^clearly having no fun at all
^^^after a ride or two we picnicked and let Birdie (hilariously) run around for a bit ^^^We decided to get our face painted (because duh) and let me just say I WISH I could have this done everyday. It was well worth $6. Also this lady is going to Burning Man. And is the absolute coolest.
^^^Nothing can truly top off a fun day like a snow cone
^^^Possibly my favorite photo I’ve ever taken 😉
And that’s a wrap!! Easily the most fun day, but this place only as fun/happy/amazing as you make it. The merry-go-round is a little worse for wear, but honestly that just adds to the charm. PLUS IT’S $2!!!!!! Try and beat that in LA. Alsooooo Walt Disney dreamed up Disneyland sitting on a bench watching his daughters ride this very merry-go-round. So if that doesn’t inspire ya or at least make you smile, I don’t know what will 🙂
