The One Where Our Flamingo Flew Away

Today I am sad to share with y’all a loss my roommates and I suffered last week. It is with a heavy heart that I announce: our giant pink flamingo pool floatie is gone.

We are all very saddened here. She was our most cherished pool floatie. We spent many an afternoon lounging on her, near her, with her. On her best days she would escort anyone of us happily around the pool, sometimes 3 at a time! We could trust her with our phones, iPads, books, drinks, etc. as she heroically protected them from the water. She made friends easily with her perfect posture and bright attitude. The swan, pizza and donut looked up to her everyday.

The great LA windstorm of April 14th, 2016 did a lot to our backyard. But the worst thing it did was take our beloved flamingo from us. We checked with our neighbors to see if she had landed safely in their yards, but she had not. We have no idea where the storm took her, but we know she is scared. This is the longest she has ever been away from home since Amazon brought her to us 4 months ago. She has never been alone.i heart summer mockup 4

If you see her, we ask that you do not approach her with any sharp objects or wind machines. She has been traumatized enough. Please share this post with friends and family so she can be found and returned safely to our home. There is no reward, except the reward of reuniting a beloved flamingo with her family.

I made these printables in her honor and in hopes of spreading awareness of windstorms and the danger it can bring upon pool floaties and their owners.

Share the happiness!!
